Obverse: Quartered shield with arms of Castile and Leon, pomegranate at bottom of shield.  Strong strike.  Reverse: Pillars with waves below.  NoR mintmark above the waves. PLVS ULTRA completely spelled out in three lines.  Date (16)53 reading downward along outside edge of right pillar.  Assayer PoRMS reading upward along outside edge of left pillar. R/L M46-16, L/R M46S-16, C&T Type 102 No. 536a. 

Anverso: Escudo cuarteado de Castilla y Leon, granada en la parte inferior del escudo. Golpe fuerte. Reverso: Columnas coronadas. Marca de ceca NoR sobre las ondas. PLVS ULTRA deletreó  totalmente hacia fuera en tres líneas. Fecha (1653) lectura  hacia abajo a lo largo del borde exterior del pilar derecho. Lectura de ensayador PoRMS hacia arriba a lo largo del borde exterior del pilar izquierdo.  R/L M46-16, L/R M46S-16, C&T Tipo 102 No. 536a. 

On a large planchet, this coin is well stuck and well preserved, the obverse is particularly handsome, with most of the crown visible, full shield and significant portion of the legend around the periphery.  The legend reads (P)HILI(P)PVS IIII (REX) DG.  The reverse side double struck, typical for such coins, and it too has some readable legend around the periphery. En una cospel grande, esta moneda se golpe bien y preservado bien, el anverso es determinado hermoso, con la mayoría del escudo visible, lleno de la corona y de la porción significativa de la leyenda alrededor de la periferia.
